Hello everyone! This is a little late, I suppose, seeing as NaNoWriMo starts today, but I literally only decided to participate at about 23:56 last night, so I think that’s okay.
If you don’t know what NaNoWriMo is…
NaNoWriMo stands for National Novel Writing Month and takes place every November. The goal for all participants is to write 50,000 words of a novel in 30 days. That is about the minimum for a YA novel, in case you were wondering. You sign up on their website and update your word count (a bit like you do your page number on goodreads), earn and award yourself awards, talk to people in the forums and make writing ‘buddies’. There are a load of prizes and NaNoWriMo-exculsive deals for participants and winners. In order to win you have to write and 50,000 words and validate it on their website. NaNoWriMo provides valuable writing tips and pep talks, as well, from published, featured authors and fellow Wrimos alike.
If you would like to participate in NaNoWriMo, it is still the first of the month, so why not go for it. Click on the link here and it will take you to a page when you can sign up. If you are participating, or have decided to, please do add me as a reading buddy- my username is Keira C. and you can find my profile here.
Good luck and happy writing,
