September Book Haul

Hello everyone!!! Looking back on my the books I bought in September I realised I have actually bought more books than I thought…. less than normal, I hope. I guess we’ll see 🙂

#1: Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets, #2: Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince, #3: Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows by J.K. RowlingScreen Shot 2015-10-02 at 23.21.46

These three books complete my collection of the Harry Potter books. I plan on rereading the series in November 🙂 I don’t think I really need to summarise this series but just incase you don’t know, they’re amazing and about a young wizard called Harry Potter.

#4: Nimona by Noelle Stevenson

4.5 stars

This was my first ever graphic novel. I did a review which you can find here.

Nimona is an impulsive young shapeshifter with a knack for villainy. Lord Ballister Blackheart is a villain with a vendetta. As sidekick and supervillain, Nimona and Lord Blackheart are about to wreak some serious havoc. Their mission: prove to the kingdom that Sir Ambrosius Goldenloin and his buddies at the Institution of Law Enforcement and Heroics aren’t the heroes everyone thinks they are.

But as small acts of mischief escalate into a vicious battle, Lord Blackheart realizes that Nimona’s powers are as murky and mysterious as her past. And her unpredictable wild side might be more dangerous than he is willing to admit.

#5: Queen of Shadows by Sarah J. Maas

5 stars.

This is the fifth book in the Throne of Glass series. The first book is called… Throne of Glass. The summary below is for that book, not Queen of Shadows so as not to spoil anyone. I bought this book on my kindle and have already read this book.

After serving out a year of hard labor in the salt mines of Endovier for her crimes, 18-year-old assassin Celaena Sardothien is dragged before the Crown Prince. Prince Dorian offers her her freedom on one condition: she must act as his champion in a competition to find a new royal assassin.

#6: Deceive by Raine Thomas

5 stars.

This is the seventh book in the Estilorians series and, I believe, the last. The Estiolorians series includes both the Daughters of Saraqael and Firstborn trilogies. The first book is called Becoming and the summary below is for that book. I bought this book on my Kindle and have already read this book.

Every three years, Amber Hopkins explodes. Okay, not a blown-to-smithereens explosion, but whatever it is always hurts like hell and leaves her life a shambles. She’s already worked her way through five foster placements, and she’s doing whatever she can to avoid getting blasted into a sixth.

#7: The Girl In The Clockwork Collar by Kady Cross, #8: The Winner’s Crime by Marie Rutkoski, #9: The Invasion of the Tearling by Erika Johansen

Screen Shot 2015-10-02 at 23.40.56

These are the second books in the Steampunk Chronicles, Winners Trilogy and Tearling Trilogy respectively. I have not yet read any of these books. For summaries of the first books, click the titles of the books.

#10: The Princess Curse by Merrie Haskell

This is a retelling of the Twelve Dancing Princesses and Beauty and the Beast. I downloaded this book on my Kindle

In the fifteenth-century kingdom of Sylvania, the prince offers a fabulous reward to anyone who cures the curse that forces the princesses to spend each night dancing to the point of exhaustion. Everyone who tries disappears or falls into an enchanted sleep.

Thirteen-year-old Reveka, a smart, courageous herbalist’s apprentice, decides to attempt to break the curse despite the danger. Unravelling the mystery behind the curse leads Reveka to the Underworld, and to save the princesses, Reveka will have to risk her soul.

#11: Das geheime Vermächtnis des Pan von Sandra Regnier

Currently Reading

This is a german book about a prophecy and elves/faeries. I am currently reading this book.

11 books. It could be worse. 10 or less is my goal for October so I’m reasonably happy with this!!!! Let me know what you think of any of these books but please- no spoilers!!!

Thank you!!! They are, aren’t they. I have all but the 4th and 5th (of which I have the original paperbacks) in the new editions 🙂 They feel nice too.
